On December 7th, the crew of the U.S.S Charter Oak asked for your help in our fight to bring an end to hunger at our annual Fill the Shuttlecraft Food & Product drive for people and pets. The generosity of Northeastern Connecticut was received with open arms, helping us collect about 726lbs of food and products for T.E.E.G, The Putnam Family Resource Center, and The CT Humane Society.
After the event concluded, the group received an additional donation of 70lbs of food from an anonymous donor.
Before Thanksgiving, our crew also donated 5 Turkey Dinners with all the Fixin's to the Gemma E. Moran United Way/Labor Food Center in New London, Conn. as the unofficial start to this annual holiday drive.
Help us help you help your neighbors to fulfill a future where there is no need for hunger or want.
Special thanks to the Killingly Commons Petco and Stop & Shop for allowing our crew to collect in front of their stores again this year!
